‘LEAVE THE LIGHT’

Lyrics

1. Normal

Follow the lights
Guide your way and leave you blind

You blink and blur your eyes
So you won’t see what lies inside

Follow the rules
Build your house on shallow grounds
And listen to the fools
Telling you to settle down, you

Can’t wake up from this haze when you’re stuck in their maze
Leave the que to the place you don’t want
You try so hard to fit in to the norm that won’t fit
Leave the shackles and say

Who needs normal anyway

Find your own way out
Leave the walls that kept you grounded
Free yourself from doubt
You can have all that you wanted

All the shadows you blame will remember your name
Almost human but you’re not the same
All the strength that you find, it’s all there in your mind
And you know what to say

Who needs normal anyway

Cause you’re so much more
Than meets the eye

Who needs normal anyway

2. Leave the Light

I wish I knew your name before you found it
I wish we were the same, a striking perfect match
We’re glowing in the dark, our palms are lanterns
And you’re giving me your spark to hold on to when you’re gone

You have no plan but you follow it
As though your life depends on it
You roll the dice and you count on it
To show you where to go

You know you’re the best solution
All you needs a revolution
Kill your darlings retribution
Cut and paste use your illusion
Fake it till you make it
And if that won’t work just go and take it
They can run but you are quicker
Leave the light, make it flicker

Leave the light, leave the light, leave the light

I watch you as you grow long like a shadow
You wanted them to know the real heart inside of you
The power’s in your hand, you taste it on your tongue
But they won’t understand until you’re long gone

You have no plan but you follow it
As though your life depends on it
You roll the dice and you count on it
To show you where to go

Close your eyes, it’s a delusion
Never ask for absolution
Break your mirrors, end pollution
You can trust your own conclusion

Fake it till you make it
And if that won’t work just go and take it
They can run but you are quicker
Leave the light, make it flicker

Leave the light, leave the light, leave the light

I wish I knew your name before you found it

3. Powerless

The show can’t go on, you’re alone
The lights are off and all is gone
Blacked out

When the power fails, all that remains
Is the glowing screen you guard with your life
A ray of hope – for the hopeless

But the dancers will dance to the beat of their own drum
The sound of their rhythm will help guide you home
But it’s not part of the show

Can you give me a sign, give me a signal, show me the way cause I can’t seem to find it
How can you know what’s left and what’s right
When you’re powerless and there’s no light

Can you hear me now
I can see your lips move but you’re breaking down
And the speakers can’t help you now

You lose your power, you lose control
No lights to tell you where to go
Let’s just walk for a bit and see what happens

Will you wait by your phone, will you bide your time
Will you get up and take the blackout in stride
Cause this is the time

Can you hear me now
I can see your lips move but you’re breaking down
And the speakers can’t help you now

This is not a test, it’s all for the best
Now that the lights are off, I can finally see the road

Can you see me now
I’ll walk the distance cause
We‘re still here
Slowly adjusting our eyes
To see in the darkness
So keep holding on
To your thoughts
You’ll need them tomorrow

4. In My Head

You speak your mind behind my back, and watch the firewall crack
I see the signs, attack, and I’m
No more than frail and weak
The more you speak, I become a freak

But it’s all in my head
All my weakness turns to strength instead
And all you said
Has no power over me because
You made your bed
And you think you can go on and pretend
I won’t forget, and I see it clearly now
It’s all in my head

You go out you close the door on all that I am
You leave a hole in my soul
But I, won’t pin your words to the wall
I’ll uninstall, what makes me small

Cause it’s all in my head …

It’s all in my head
All my weakness turns to strength instead
And all you said
Has no power over me because
It’s in your head
And you think you can go on and pretend
But I see red, and I see it clearly now
It’s all in my head

5. No Heroes

Where’d you go
You left and I don’t know
Just where I can belong
Sad like a country song playing on the radio all day long
The frequency’s all wrong

I’m almost out of hope
Hanging at the end of the rope
Balancing and trying to cope
I don’t know where to go, I’m afraid of falling down
Cause no one’s there to catch me when I hit the ground, beneath the tightrope
No one’s there to save me, cause I have

No heroes, I’ve got no one
To light up this dark sky with no stars and no sun
I’ve got no one to count on when the day is done
I’ve got no heroes, I’ve got no one
But my own…

Wide awake
The thoughts I can’t escape
If I could find a cape
I’d put it on and fly out of the window
Looking down at everyone who will remember once I’m gone that I might be the only one
To save them from themselves cause they’ve got

No heroes, they’ve got no one
To light up this dark sky with no stars and no sun
They’ve got no one to count on when the day is done
They’ve got no heroes, they’ve got no one
But I’ll be the hero, I will be someone
To light up this dark sky with no stars and no sun
When the world has left me with no other choice
I’ve got no heroes, so I’ll find a voice
To be my own…
